SSILC celebrated Independent Living Across Canada Day (June 3) with the 2019 UN Theme: “The Future is Accessible”. A great turnout with good fellowship and the unveiling of “Peer Park – Your Place for Inclusion”

Persons with Disabilities – register now for The Business of Living – 9 classes to guide you through money management, utilities, health care, and secure food and housing.

SSILC offers a program called Targeted Initiative for Older Workers. We need an Employment Facilitator who will bring personal and professional values consistent with the Independent Living (IL) philosophy, along with knowledge, skills and abilities of working with individuals 55+.

Entrepreneurs! Hit up the Dragons’ Den
DRAGONS’ DEN gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their businesses to a panel of wealthy Canadian business moguls – the Dragons. Successful pitchers will have a chance to earn real investment – from the Dragons’ own pockets!
This is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs and small business owners to come down and pitch their business concept for the chance to appear on national television.

New Program in Moose Jaw
South Saskatchewan Independent Living Centre (SSILC) is pleased to be offering Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW).
To be eligible for this program individuals must be unemployed, reside in (or near) Moose Jaw and be between the ages of 55-64.
This program is funded through Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. It is a paid program consisting of 8 weeks in classroom training followed by a 4 week work placement.
Classroom training will focus on developing various skills to be successful in the workplace in an interactive learning environment.
This program has limited spots – if you are interested, wanting more details or would like to reserve your seat please call the Program Manager at 306-692-7452 ext. 1 or stop in the SSILC office in Moose Jaw.
